A revolution has come in my cooking, and this revolution is no-chicken vegan burger. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw their texture and taste! This dish could revolutionize your approach to vegetable burgers.
They are brilliantly fried, they have exactly the taste you choose, they do not fall apart in a bun – what more could you expect from a perfect burger?
No-chicken vegan burgers are rich in soy protein, they are turbo cheap (a pack of soy cubes costs from 12 CZK), and when you are in a hurry, you can use ready-made stock cubes as a broth. Just be sure to add the rest of the spices or your burger will just taste like cooked soybeans – nothing fancy.
Many times I tried to make vegan burgers based on beans, groats, etc. And even when their taste was very satisfactory, at the moment of the first bite, the burger fell into pieces. Didn’t hold its shape and in the end it became a sad and warm mush. And here came a huge surprise! The burger holds its shape, is fluffy and very tasty!
I guarantee that the whole family will love them!
SOY CUBES – You can use any shape of dry soy protein: flake, granules or maxi size, but I chose the cubes and I think they’re the best for this burger. After cooking in the broth, remember to drain it a little and cut it into smaller pieces. If you have a food processor, try grinding them until they still remain larger.
SPICES – here you also have full freedom in choosing how your burgers should taste. My favorites are smoked paprika, dried garlic, black ground pepper – they give a meat-like flavor to the soy chunks.
EXTRAS – tastes fantastic with home-made coleslaw. You can also make onion rings for it (Jesus, they have a billion calories but it’s so worth it). Baked potatoes will be great too!

INGREDIENTS
(for 3 burgers)
- 100g of soy cubes
- 50g of plain-flour
- 500ml of broth
- a few drops of smoke aroma or 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of dried garlic
- ½ teaspoon of pepper
- oregano
Any extras you like:
bread rolls, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickled cucumber, your favorite sauces (I used ketchup and honey mustard)

VEGAN BURGER – PREPARATION
- We start by heating the broth with spices. Add 100g of soy cubes into it and cook over low heat for about 10-15 minutes. The cubes will float on the surface of the broth, so you should dip them in the cooking liquid from time to time. When they are soft inside, drain them and let them cool.
- Then we have two options: We use a mixer so that there are still large pieces left, or we cut them. When cutting, remember to chop some pieces into bigger chunks and some pieces into smaller chunks. Transfer the chopped soy to a bowl. Add 50g of flour and knead the mass for about 5 minutes, put it in the fridge for 20 minutes to make sure it thickens.
- After this time, remove the dough from the refrigerator and form some nice burgers. Fry in a pan with oil for 5 minutes on each side.
- Serve in your favorite bread roll with your favorite toppings.
A REVOLUTION IS HERE!
